Former New York Rangers all-star goalie Mike Richter is contemplating a challenge to Connecticut Republican Representative Chris Shays. Shays was the only GOPer to survive the 2006 Democratic rout in New England.
It’s very early, and Richter hasn’t committed, but it seems like he’s a serious candidate.
The slide to the one party state continues. The Republican have almost no one left to recruit as a viable candidate in about half the states. The Democrats can run almost anyone in New England and win.
If a former quarterback can win for the Democrats, what’s wrong with a hockey player. The Republicans won the presidency with a B-movie actor.
And if he wins maybe he can hold the seat for 2 terms, then oust the GOP senator from Conn. as well.

Great snark, Pyst! I would dearly love to see Lieberman out of the Senate. The people in Conn who believed they were electing a Democrat got it dead wrong.
