Blathering on the Internet

Another blithering idiot decides he’s qualified to run for President of the United States.

Not that we didn’t already know this, but being a woman — nay, being a woman who clearly considers herself a feminist and an advocate for women’s workplace rights — is no assurance that said woman will not say (or write) something astonishingly stupid, like ‘Women who work as maids in hotels don’t care if they get fired.’

Chris Christie’s views on evolution versus creationism are none of our business. Given Christie’s determination to kill public education in New Jersey, perhaps it really is a moot point if he believes the world was created in six days 6,000 years ago.

It’s crickets from Apocalypse Central with the world still here two days after the Doomsday deadline.

I always thought leftists would prefer that people keep their religious beliefs to themselves. What, therefore, gives with the Christie criticism on evolution?

Also, I really haven’t seen proof that leftist policies have done any good whatsoever in public edication. The Department of Ed. was created in 1980. Has American education gone uphill since then? Nope.

I teach my kids at home for a few hours each day, and they score in the 95th percentile on standardized tests. I spend a few hundred dollars each. “Progressives” still seem to be delusional about the need to warehouse children and teach them all the same things.

Finally, OMG, Herman Cain blundered in an unscripted interview on Israel? Of course, Mr. 1967 made himself really popular this week, and he had a teleprompter to help him out.

    Signed,

A Mama who loves her ability to stay home, eat bonbons, and read Plato with her kids.

Well, maybe Mama want to eat bonbons, and have someone supply the roof, eats, medical and transportation while she eddicates the kids, meanwhile chiding Obama on foreign policy, and giving a pass to Christie on cosmology and science.

As a liberal, or “leftist” as she sloppily labels progressives, I’m perfectly willing for her to keep her kids in the 95th percentile (of what she derides as a poor system).

There’s the question, of course, of how well-educated about reality those kids are, and whether Plato is the proper ground for such reality. But then, we’re kind of talking about living in a cave…

He may have added to that “popularity” when addressing AIPAC:

“By definition, it means that the parties themselves – Israelis and Palestinians – will negotiate a border that is different than the one that existed on June 4, 1967. It allows the parties themselves to account for the changes that have taken place over the last 44 years. It allows the parties themselves to take account of those changes, including the new demographic realities on the ground, and the needs of both sides.”

“The ultimate goal is two states for two people, Israel as a Jewish state and the homeland for the Jewish people – and the State of Palestine as the homeland for the Palestinian people – each state in joined self-determination, mutual recognition, and peace.”

  4. Herman Cain is far from a blithering idiot. But it was starkly obvious that he really haven’t gave the Israel-Palestine affair much thought (I admit that I just refuse to immerse myself in that affair because my eyes start to bleed). But that isn’t going to stop his growing popularity. A sizable number of Americans don’t care much about Israel & Palestine when they face The Great Correction at home.

It is funny how without a solid candidate to focus on many Dems are thrashing about trying to trash anyone and everyone who even might be a candidate.

  6. DaGoat says:

Not likely the former CEO of a large company is a blithering idiot any more than the former president of the Harvard Law Review is a blithering idiot. Both positions require a certain degree of competence.

This does show that Cain is poorly prepared to run for president, and probably to be president. The interview was Palin-esque. Foreign policy appears to be his weak spot, and instead of making an effort to strengthen his knowledge he tried to bluff his way through.
