A show-stopping song from the Cole Porter songbook…sung by Frank Sinatra (named by Time the best entertainer of the 20th century) and stage legend Ethel Merman (and yes this was performed before my time):
As I said, I was too young to have seen them do this rendition of the song. But I LOVE “show stopper” numbers done with pizazz and showmanship. If you watch the two of them and how they look at the audience, each other and do the lyrics it’s a study in two old pros.
The younger readers here might prefer a more modern interpretation of Cole Porter, Joe…
