I dont quite know why I was so hung up on this horse and his fight for life, but my heart is heavy today.
I know – I’m not a horse-racing fan and there are certainly more important issues in the world than the welfare of this particular horse but I’m sad anyway.
I think a lot of people got caught up in his long struggle. Barbaro seemed to have a great spirit and will to live, beyond all expectations. That is what, imo, we could identify with. You don’t have to be a racing fan or an animal lover to feel sadness over his death.
I am sad for the horse and his fans, however it is just a horse. The bimbo at MSNBC almost cried over the horse story. Maenwhile, the California couple who battled a cougar who attacked the husband gets less air play. The man was downgrade to ‘critical’ and were supposed to worry (at a national level) about a horse. A man may die from a cougar mauling and the Imus-news-kitten is crying about a horse!!!
Never heard of the horse.
