Hello readers.
There are now quicktags/buttons in the comments that allow you to do strong or bold, emphasis or italics, blockquotes, and code listing. The buttons open and close the tags.
Also the overzealous comment moderation monster has been reigned in some. Please be patient as it “learns” and stops moderating legitimate comments. Comments that were mistakenly moderated have been “freed”.
Happy commenting!
Whew! Thanks!!!!
More like… “Whew! Thanks!!!!” imo.
Preview Button“?
Yes, all of us at TMV can’t say enough about the folks who have helped us move from Powerblogs, convert the design and data over to Word Press, and to fined tune this site by trying to accomodate the suggestions of readers and of cobloggers. I try to do the same thing with readers requests. I fly the kite tomorrow.
Thanks for doing all this work!
Hah! I see my comment on gypsies has reappeared from the nether regions. I figured it was the software changeover.
Looking good, but I’ll second (third, fourth, hundredth?) the pleas for a preview window – the friend of bad typists (and second thoughts) everywhere.
Preview window you say? I think I can muster that.
Thank you to everyone for whatever time and effort was spent in making the quicktags a reality. I personally thought that the given HTML for linking was fairly confusing and wasn’t consistent with HTML on other blogs.
What am I missing? I see no buttons. Point my eyes in the right direction please.
Kevin: circa half a centimeter above the type box. It says
“Your Comment
Quicktags:
strong / bold em/italics code blockquote link close tags”
how to use: click on one of those tags, for instance bold. When done with bold part click “close tags”.
Yes, this is how it should be done
of the buttons
Yay, idiot proof buttons again!
Oh, ok I see the problem. I use and RSS reader (sage), which shows the main post and comments on a single page, as if you had clicked on the “Permalink” link. This page does NOT have the quicktag buttons. Certainly not the end of the world, but just thought you should know.
Test:
Booker!
Writing ‘B00ker’ in comments still doesn’t work.
And where’s the preview button?
There is an incrdible lot of software you could use for the comment section, why use this crap?
