(Former?) Republican John Cole remarks on the GOP’s remarkably-quick relapse into perpetual victimhood. A RedState commenter throws up his hands:
Once, just once, I would love to see the Republicans demonstrate the grace of consistency. Why is it that we have to raise crassness to the level of our highest principle?
Good question.
RedState with its vicious abuse of anything and everything not RedState; their moronic ‘Pit’; and, their lack of desire to engage in any form of legimate debate make them a posterchild of how to look foolish to all political persuasions.
A relapse?
They never stopped. I remember they liked to portray themselves as always the victim, even when in full control.
I might actually take Patrick McHenry’s side on this. If it was a fair Bill when the Democrats proposed it, it should still be a fair bill today. I could see some sort of stipulation that only enacts some or all of the ‘rights’ when the president and the congress are from the same party. That seems like a fair compromise, and would porbably shut the McHenry up, as even though I think the bill might be fair, I’m more skeptical of his motives.
Then Kevin, the next logical question might be: Did you think it “was a fair Bill when the Democrats proposed it” or were you against it because of political affiliation?
