The question now raging is: Will President Barack Obama name his Supreme Court justice nominee this week?
And the betting is “yes.”
Informed speculation is rife that it’ll be this week — for various reasons, including Obama’s schedule this week.
First, there’s Democratic Senator Dick Durbin’s assertion:
Sen. Dick Durbin told David Gregory on NBC’s “Meet the Press” that President Obama’s Supreme Court pick is likely coming this week.
“I think it is going to come this week,” Durbin said.
Gregory asked, “You think as early as Tuesday?”
” Well, I, I’ve been told it’s likely to come this week, but I don’t know which day.”
And then there’s NBC’s analysis, which sounds like it’s right on the button:
