Are Arab nations going along too easily with the demands of the Obama Administration? Israel’s recent treatment of Joe Biden seems to have triggered some Arab soul-searching on the question. According to this article by columnist Yassir Al Zaatira of Saudi Arabia’s Al Madina newspaper, the apparent impunity with which Israel dispenses with the will of the United States should be a lesson for Arab leaders.
Filled with anti-‘Zionist’ rhetoric common to Arab newspapers, for Al-Madina, Yassir Al Zaatira writes in part:
Netanyahu’s slap in the face to this important visitor – the announcement of the 1,600 settlement units in a colony near Jerusalem – didn’t prevent Biden from professing his love and affection, and the criticism he uttered was just a “hasty” reaction. This was quickly overcome and Biden showed his understanding to Netanyahu, that friend and “man of peace,” who told him that he knew nothing about the announcement and that it wasn’t his decision.
And Biden isn’t the only intimate friend of the Jewish state in the White House. Dear Hillary Clinton is effusive in proclaiming her love and support (manifested during her speech at the AIPAC conference). Then there is Zionist and son of a Zionist, White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emmanuel – and many others. Finally we’re left with our dear Barack (Hussein) Obama, who was welcomed by many for his “soft” speech that was in reality soft only to those who wanted it to be.
It’s clear now to anyone with vision that what we said before the presidential election was true: Obama was better than the Republican nominee in regard to the Jewish state because of his capacity to sell his goods to Arabs, the Islamic World and throughout the rest of the Third World.
The striking thing about the whole issue is that while the entire world is becoming aware of the weakness of the U.S. administration, from Latin America to Asia, from Iran to Korea, and from Turkey to China to Russia, strangely, only the Arabs accept its commands and obey.
