There has been significant movement on some hot button issues over the last five to ten years.
Some top leaders in both parties have evolved relatively quickly, as have many/most Americans.
I think we can also see significant movement when it comes to updated, common sense guns laws.
There is no shortage of comments pages and posts over the last couple decades full of well-deserved anger calling for gun control and calling out feckless politicians for inaction.
Help me with two questions if interested ==>
First: what would gun laws look if you were writing law and could have it your way?
Remember, what we want and what our politicians can pass _may_ be two different things.
So, second, what would you suggest for gun laws that might actually become law?
I like (most of) what California has done with our common sense gun laws.
What I really like is that it is on the books, even if not perfect.
As I have said earlier, I would like to see the ten day wait period in Cali become thirty days.
