The Democrats in charge decided that the blowback from taking God and Jerusalem out of the Democrat platform was too much, and moved to put them back in. Below you can watch the hilarious event where the Democrats clearly vote no, and the chair says, “Let me try that again”….and again! In the end he just ignores the “Nay” votes and pretends the majority said “Yay.” Which is pretty typical of Democrats today. Just ignore the will of the people.
So telling, and so embarrassing.
Sandra Fluke, with her smug face and ridiculous narrative, where Americans are supposed to believe that anyone wants to take away a woman’s birth control, was laughable. She is 30 years old. In an expensive private law school, and WE are supposed to PAY for her birth control??? I don’t think so. Pay for it on your own, and take as much as you wish. Democrats can have Sandra Fluke for a role model. We will take Mia Love, who spoke at our convention, who at 30 yrs old wasn’t still in school asking for Americans to pay for her birth control. She had graduated, was married, with two kids, and elected to Sarasota Springs City Council, a springboard to be mayor. Of course the pathetic irony is that someone like Fluke and Elizabeth Warren, who claim to speak for women (certainly not women like me), would speak at a party convention that honors men who have used women their whole lives, Clinton and Kennedy.
Bill Clinton was the star of the night as he went on and on, speaking about how great Obama is, but not before he told you how great he himself is. He is a skilled speaker, no doubt. He was so charismatic that he might make you forget that as President he lied to the American people, cheated, used women, and was impeached. At least he makes the Democrats forget. But for so many of us, we don’t forget. He was very good last night at lying about Pres. Bush’s record. You see, he says that four years just isn’t enough time for Obama to set things right, and that Bush didn’t do that great either. But the truth has always been a hard thing for Clinton to grasp. During his Mepalooza, he forgot the stone cold truth:
In the wake of a recession that began roughly seven weeks after President Bush took office, America experienced six years of uninterrupted economic growth and a record 52 straight months of job creation that produced more than 8 million new jobs. During the Bush presidency, the unemployment rate averaged 5.3 percent. We saw labor-productivity gains that averaged 2.5 percent annually — a rate that exceeds the averages of the 1970s, 1980s, and 1990s. Real after-tax income per capita increased by more than 11 percent. And from 2000 to 2007, real GDP grew by more than 17 percent, a gain of nearly $2.1 trillion.
As for Obama’s claim that Bush “turned a budget surplus into a deficit”: by January 2001, when Bush was inaugurated, the budget surpluses were already evaporating as the economy was skidding toward recession (it officially began in March 2001). Combined with the devastating economic effects of 9/11, when we lost around 1 million jobs over 90 days, the surplus went into deficit.
Rather than whine incessantly about the situation, President Bush proposed policies that triggered the kind of sustained growth that saw the deficit fall to 1 percent of GDP ($162 billion) by 2007. Indeed, before the financial crisis of 2008 – which I’ll return to in a moment — Bush’s budget deficits were 0.6 percentage points below the historical average. (My former White House colleague Keith Hennessey eviscerates Obama’s assertion that we faced a “decade of spiraling deficits” here).
Now let’s consider Mr. Obama’s record: an unemployment rate of 9.5 percent, with 131,000 jobs lost in July, during our so-called Recovery Summer (Vice President Biden promised us up to 500,000 new jobs a month back in April). The overall unemployment rate, incorporating people who want jobs but did not look during July, is now 16.5 percent.
According to J.D. Foster, Obama’s “job deficit” — the difference between current employment and the jobs Obama promised to create by the end of 2010 – stands at a staggering 7.6 million workers. The 2010 deficit is $1.471 trillion, or 10 percent of GDP, while the debt is $9.2 trillion, or 62.7 percent of GDP. (From January 20, 2001, to January 20, 2009, the debt held by the public grew $3 trillion under Bush, from $3.3 trillion to $6.3 trillion; in 20 months, Mr. Obama will add as much debt as Mr. Bush ran up in eight years.) And let’s not forget that the Obama administration passed an $862 billion stimulus package and assured us that unemployment would not exceed 8 percent; instead, unemployment topped 10 percent – a figure higher than what the Obama administration said would occur if the stimulus package wasn’t passed.
Sales of new homes collapsed earlier this year, sinking 33 percent to the lowest level on record (new home sales rose in June from May’s historical low, but the overall pace was still the second slowest on record, the Commerce Department reported.
Trying to get a snake charmer to rewrite history will not cover up the dismal failures of this administration. It just won’t.
Then Clinton has to play the race card for states simply asking for ID to prove who you are before you vote. The truth is that Republicans want voter ID to protect the integrity of the vote:
In his speech last night, Bill Clinton shamelessly played the race card in an attack on voter-ID laws. He veered from a discussion of the economy to say “If you want every American to vote and you think it’s wrong to change voting procedures just to reduce the turnout of younger, poorer, minority and disabled voters, you should support Barack Obama.”
His timing in attacking efforts to combat voter fraud couldn’t have come at a more ironic time. Just yesterday, a Democratic state legislator in Clinton’s native Arkansas pled guilty along with his father, a West Memphis police officer, and a West Memphis city councilman to a conspiracy to commit voter fraud.
Democratic representative Hudson Hallum was part of a conspiracy to bribe voters in three separate elections in 2011.
……………………….
At one point, Hallum told Philip Wayne Carter, the city councilman, that “We need to use that black limo and buy a couple cases of some cheap vodka and whiskey to get people to vote.”
So, which party is really denigrating the black vote again? I think that is pretty clear. Read the whole piece.
There was a lot of the class warfare talk, with Elizabeth Warren claiming the “game is rigged.” As Mona Charen said, Maybe she is right that the “game is rigged.” The top 5 percent of taxpayers pay 58 percent of income taxes.” As much as the Democrats try, they can’t change that simple fact. The rich do pay more in taxes.
The lies continued yesterday with DNC Chair Debbie Wasserman Shultz. She went on national news saying that a conservative newspaper had deliberately misquoted her saying that she never made the claim that Israeli Ambassador Michael Oren had said that Republican criticism of Obama is “dangerous for Israel.” Philip Klein of the Washington Examiner columnist who claimed that, posted audio showing exactly what she said.
She said,“We know, and I’ve heard no less than Ambassador Michael Oren say this, that what the Republicans are doing is dangerous for Israel,”
The world of audio and Youtube have not served the Democrat’s well. They used to be able to claim they never said something, and the willing media would play along. No more. We may not have the mainstream media giving the truth it’s due, but at least there is a way to get the truth out there, and that’s something.
