As reported here yesterday, investigative journalist Seymour Hersh asserts that a covert military unit attached to the Joint Special Operations Command prowled the world killing people on orders of Dick Cheney.
In a follow-up at my own blog, I flesh out why I am skeptical of Hersh’s “executive assassination ring” claim and review why Hersh has to be taken seriously until when and if he is discredited. But I note that Hersh sometimes says things that he doesn’t write, which is to say that he appears to bend that most malleable of commodities — the truth — which in my book tarnishes even his terrific journalistic achievements.
