All of the articles I’ve linked to below came to me via my Twitter feed.
Zack Kopplin is a senior at Baton Rouge Magnet High School (in Louisiana). He is also one of Dr. Michael Zimmerman’s Profiles in (Evolutionary) Courage.
Also at HuffPost: “The Bolivian president and a Russian political leader have launched a joint effort to have President Barack Obama stripped of the Nobel Peace Prize” in response to his invasion of Libya.
Speaking of Libya, Juan Cole apparently supports what he calls “the current United Nations action” in that country. Unlike Digby, who opposes the U.S. intervention, Prof. Cole does not mention the fact that Pres. Obama did not go to Congress for a declaration of war before ordering the airstrikes.
You knew this one was coming, right?
Toby C. Jones has a write-up in Foreign Policy about Saudi leaders’ fears that the wave of popular uprisings in their region might spread to their own neighborhood. They should look at the bright side: At least they don’t have to fear a U.S. bombing campaign.
PolitiFact gives Pres. Obama a “Full Flop” on his 2007 statement that “The president does not have power under the Constitution to unilaterally authorize a military attack in a situation that does not involve stopping an actual or imminent threat to the nation.”
This would not be any kind of problem if people would keep their cats indoors.
