As a former fulltime journalist, I can offer you this truism:
The news media LOVES a good, colorful quote.
And usually an outrageous sound-bite quote machine is (a) someone who isn’t going to win the nomination, (b) someone who is going to get an AWFUL lot of media attention and be the subject of an awful lot of profiles.
Is THIS that person in 2008?
Joe Gandelman is a former fulltime journalist who freelanced in India, Spain, Bangladesh and Cypress writing for publications such as the Christian Science Monitor and Newsweek. He also did radio reports from Madrid for NPR’s All Things Considered. He has worked on two U.S. newspapers and quit the news biz in 1990 to go into entertainment.
