Who detests the other more: The United States government or the regime at the helm of the Islamic Republic of Iran?
Based on this article from the tightly state-controlled Kayhan newspaper, one would have to think that the Iranian Mullahs come out on top on that question.
For Kayhan, that newspaper’s regular columnist on foreign affairs, Kian Mokhtari, writes in part:
“So we must talk to the murderers who supplied chemical and biological weapons to Saddam Hussein with which he wiped out an entire generation of Iranians, and who also have the gall to say they’re concerned about global security. How nice!
“We have to lower ourselves morally and spiritually to sit down with these sponsors of the Zionist entity: that cockamamie band of Tel Aviv child murderers who harvest Palestinians for body organs.
“On the eve of talks with the P5+1, we beg God to give us patience, because the mere thought of proximity with such company and in the absence of so many of our martyred loved ones and friends is abhorrent to us and fills our numbers with apprehension and disgust.”
