Endurance, The Word: A Lost Story

May 14th, 2008

The word endure is from the Latin, indurare, and the Spanish, duro, meaning ‘hard’ or to ‘harden.’

But to endure, to develop endurance doesnt mean to be inert nor immovable nor brittle. Quite the contrary.

To endure means to be hardened, as in being passed through the fire… as a steel blade is passed through fire to harden it… so that thus tempered, one remains limber: bendable, but not breakable.

Stamina also is a good word. Does Obama have tamina enough to run through November and win, he is a Marathon man? Aside the lanky physical aspect that Obama has, and that helps is he mentally fit for it, is his staff , are the democrats. Time will tell. What is not pretty is the picture the Democrats and the WV voters gave of America to the rest of the world. I have not seen a lot of comments on how this election is playing on the rets of the planet psyche.
We know that they have already had female leaders to the highest, Thatcher comes to mind, or actually Merckel. Hillary as a woman is an asset for America, I join here the feminists with the minus that true feminism whould be the right to chose regardless of gender too....having a slecetion of choices gender-free
When it come sto race, LBJ and MLK mean a lot more than we care to think to western Europe and a few other countries...
By signalling that we are ready to have C POWELL and C RICE as key players but perpetuating the pre-Civil War cliche of an AA unable to be deemed to be fot to become POTUS is not really the smartest thing to do these days. Bush has put us in a pit when it comes to international standing.
Stamina to win and endurance to forebear the smears that this GE is going to boast off , my God, we are all going to need stamina. The racist -ever so cAREFully silken words of Fox and their likes are going to carry on and on...
If in November, we show the world bARACK LOST NOT BECAUSE OF HIS PROGRAM BUT BECAUSE ...AHEM...YOU KNOW...HE`S BLACK. we better expect a backlash , more politically than economically with other Western powers parting away more from NATO and leaving us more starnded in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Endurance is going to become our national motto for quite a few yearsas MCain will certainly not get support anywhere else. Not that they consider him to be on Bush level. Bush is a standard in himself or rather a bottomless pit but Another Rep admin IS NOT GOING TO BE CONSIDERED AS ABLE EITHER IN ECONOMY EITHER IN FOREIGN POLICY.
WV made herself heard and will wish in the years to come she could have shut up .
