In a victory for LBGT rights the US Senate has voted by a margin of 64-32 to pass the Employment Non Discrimination Act, a law which would prohibit employers from discriminating against employees based on sexual orientation. The law provides exceptions for religious organizations and gained bipartisan support
Unfortunately the House is unlikely to take up the bill.
