My brother made the mistake of not worrying about the Texas/USC matchup. Trojans win at football, not basketball. Oops. There goes one of his final four picks. As for me, my entire bracket has been obliterated on that side with WSU losing yesterday (I had UNC downed to Marquette–brilliant selection, that was).
On the other hand, Wisconsin’s very predictable (after seeing their performance against Texas A&M-CC, anyway) loss to UNLV should do some damage to that annoying kid who didn’t pick a single upset–that should not work!
There are no double-digit seeds left in the tournament, and only one seed higher than seven (thank you UNLV). Urgh! I miss George Mason.
The next set of crucial games (from my vantage point, anyway): USC/UNC and Memphis versus Texas A&M. Someone has to stop the Hansborough juggernaut, and if A&M goes down everybody’s “trendy” finals pick loses (same thing for Georgetown, but for some reason I have more invested in seeing A&M go down in flames).
