Readers and bloggers have had an impact on spreading the word about a site we posted about here. Read the cartoon by cartoonist/blogger Chris Muir above. In fact, it was Muir — who has a loved one touched by The Big C — who doggedly got the word out to bloggers, who helped get the word out to readers. His site can be visited here.
Too often on these weblogs it’s as if the ONLY THING in the world is partisan politics. That’s FAR from accurate.
In fact, if you get away from your computer, you see a whole world out there — a world of beautiful skies, pristine beaches, children laughing, oldsters with gleams in their eyes. Life is more than attacking Republicans or attacking Democrats. So when something like this comes along that can make a truly MEANINGFUL difference in someone’s life, it makes the other things about blogging (things that make some bloggers think about walking away from their blogs) worthwhile.
Muir not ONCE sent an email asking for any credit, or even a link. He didn’t ask us to run this cartoon or mention his website. But he deserves credit for not pitching something to get attention to his site, or promote a party agenda — just something that might help others enjoy the beaches, the sunsets and the bittersweet experiences of old age.
