Something wonderful happened today.
My mother tried to teach us kids that being persistent politely got results and was almost always appropriate. Such good behavior of course is not something I’ve always done. Mostly though. And today I had big results – big results to my way of thinking anyway.
I called – yet again – about a bill that was too high and going up and up – this may have been my fifth or sixth attempt. I once again politely explained the issue to a woman answering the company’s customer service line. She listened to me and made suggestions of possible options. She asked me to hold while she checked out various things. I did and we came to an agreement.
The upshot? Not only a little money saved and a small feeling of accomplishment, but also a wonderful memory of my mother.
