John Cline is a well-known and highly respected Internet writer, blogger, and activist — well-known, well-respected, and totally reputable. He has a very close friend whose house is going up for auction unless he can come up with $1,080 by Sept. 13. His friend is severely disabled and has exhausted every other source of help, including family, churches, etc. John has given me permission to link, here, to his original Facebook note (i.e., he’s been trying to help Chris for a while; it didn’t just start yesterday, but that’s when I found out about it), where all the relevant information is posted. Please read the entire note before doing anything.
I already gave $50. I would give the whole amount if I could, I really would. I know what it feels like to be in this situation, and for Chris it’s especially awful because he’s got a family, he’s severely physically disabled, and he’s got nowhere to go.
If you’re afraid this might be a scam, read John’s note; it really, really is not a scam. This guy is for real. If there is any way you can help, even with a small amount, anything will help.
We are all in this leaky lifeboat together, folks. If you can’t give money, moral support helps, too. You can give that at John’s Facebook page, or even by calling Chris (his number is in John’s note). Please read the entire note first.
Thank you to everyone for anything you can do to help Chris.
