Ah, yes, they’re both singing that old standard “I Love Paris.”
The big news is that hotel heiress and “The Simple Life” reality TV star Paris Hilton is engaged to her boyfriend, Paris Latsis, her spokesman reports.
Perhaps it’s their names that make it sound so romantic. It might not sound as romantic if they were both named “Newark.” Details:
“They are happy and excited,” Hilton spokesman Rob Shuter said Monday, confirming the story first reported on People magazine’s Web site.
Latsis, 27, proposed to Hilton, 24, on Wednesday after she returned from a three-week publicity tour in Europe to promote her horror flick “House of Wax” and her new fragrance.
House of Wax? Isn’t that a movie about an ear doctor? And her new fragrance: they finally found a way to duplicate the smell of a trust fund? But we digress:
“I’m so in love and grateful to have found such an honest and loyal person,” Hilton told Us Weekly magazine. “I feel like we were meant to be, and I’m happy to have found someone to spend the rest of my life with.”
The magazine quoted her fiance calling Hilton “the most beautiful woman I’ve ever met. I feel like the luckiest man in the world.”
The couple, who have been dating for about eight months, marked the engagement Saturday with a barbecue for 75 friends and family at their Hollywood Hills home, Shuter said.
A suggestion to the couple. When it comes time for the honeymoon I can recommend a hotel. Call Motel 6. They’ll leave a light on for you.
