WASHINGTON – This morning I had an exchange with Politico’s Jonathan Martin on Twitter about this subject. He asked a good question: If we play webvid for free, is it an “ad”? He also suggested calling it a “video press released.” It’s my contention that in new media today, the number of people who can view it makes it an ad. But I don’t trumpet most ads, with this particular webvid powerful enough to warrant showing. So, I’d say Mitt Romney got coverage the ad deserved by his people making it an ad that was too intense to ignore.
It’s no more Mr. Nice Guy for Mitt, who’s making it clear what the 2012 election is about: “Barack Obama’s failed America,” a line from his announcement speech.
