Pataki is contemplating whether or not to run for President. As James Joyner points out, ‘with Rudy Giuliani, Hillary Clinton, and Michael Bloomberg already leaning toward running, it would be one crowded field of New Yorkers vying for the White House.’
James concludes:
I guess they figure if you can make it there you can make it anywhere but they may well wind up splitting the vote and ensuring a non-New Yorker wins.
Perhaps there is something to such a reasoning, but… is it about New York, or about one’s views? Besides, Giuliani for the Republicans or Pataki of course and Hillary for the Democrats… It’s not as if they have to ‘share’ votes. Perhaps, only, Pataki and Giuliani, but even that does not seem to be logical to: both stand for different things.
Or am I missing something here?
