I have just received a letter from the First Lady–as I am sure millions of other unsuspecting, righteous Americans have.
The insidious letter starts innocently enough with the words:
As a mother, I know there is nothing more important than a child’s health. But today, obesity threatens the health of one out of three American children. That’s why we launched Let’s Move! — a nationwide effort to solve the challenge of childhood obesity within a generation.
(The new BIG government site is LetsMove.gov, allegedly an online resource for parents, teachers and community leaders to help our children “eat better and become more active.”)
But very quickly the insatiable desire of the Obama administration to monitor, control and regulate every aspect of our society and of our private lives becomes readily apparent when the evil “features” of the new site are divulged, despite them being couched in innocuous terms such as:
• Simple steps to success for parents, teachers, local officials, community leaders and chefs with easy, achievable ways to make changes in your day to day lives to improve the health of our nation’s kids;
• Ideas and resources for parents and families to get moving in the great outdoors;
• Healthy, affordable weekly menu plans and video cooking demonstrations for busy families created by some of the country’s top chefs.
Be careful, Americans!
“Let’s Move!” is just the latest socialist organization hiding behind the façade of do-good-sounding names such as “The President’s Task Force on Childhood Obesity” and the “President’s Council on Fitness, Sports and Nutrition” to come along to indoctrinate you and your children.
Tomorrow, Michelle Obama will be hosting a live chat at 10 a.m. EDT at LetsMove.gov allegedly to “talk about Let’s Move! and answer your questions about the initiative.”
Don’t watch it! Especially, don’t let your children watch it.
As with every Obama family “talk to the nation,” there will be those treacherous subliminal messages designed to lure you and your family into a state of apathy, complacency and dependency–into the Nanny State.
On the other hand, it may just be an online resource for parents, teachers and community leaders to help our children eat better and become more active–to fight childhood obesity, one of the most important public health concerns.
You decide.
APPENDIX (Added):
It has been brought to my attention that my satire is entirely too subtle.
I want to make it perfectly clear that I fully support the First Lady’s commendable efforts in this area.
