We will neither offer truce nor safe harbor to the enemies of Mexico. This is a fight that we will win if, among all Mexicans, we continue to join forces and solidify our energy, our talent and our will.

The neocon haters have to be wringing their hands at another nation attempting to unify against a common foe.

Actually, Upinsmoke, the laws of supply and demand would tell us that prohibition doesn’t work. It merely creates incentives for the creation of black markets. If you want to get rid of drug cartels, continuing to wage the War on Drug (either in this country, or Mexico, or Columbia, or Peru, or Bolivia . . .) is exactly the wrong thing to do.

The War on Drugs isn’t the answer to our drugs problems. The War on Drugs is the problem.

LOL you drug legalizers crack me up. Like I said you NeoCon haters must be wringing your hands at another nation attempting to unify against a common foe.

Oh and yeah I heard an interview with Roseane Barr a few months back in which she stated that we should legalize drugs because if we cant keep them out of jail how can we keep them out of the country.

Therefore if something is hard. Dont do it. This countrys health care system is already overburdened from BOOZE/CIGARETTE consumption from two legalized industries of a product that is proven to be bad for us Physically and in our pocketbook.

Finally after how many years the world and the USA is starting to take some measures against the Cigarette industry. Too little, too late?

So now you want to throw in Legalized drugs and turn another 10 or 20 million Americans into drug addicts. Then on top of that……

And this is what gets me…….This is the real Coup De Gra.

YOU WANT NATIONAL HEALTHCARE so we can pay for the 20 million more Americans that legalizing Drugs would put into our healthcare system.

I’d be for legalizing marijuana. Just put oh say a 500 dollar per join tax on each reefer. I mean after all earlier in TMV you guys were trying to figure out how to tax lightbulbs.

Too funny. And you call us NeoCons nuts.

  • I want my $500 billion back, UpInSmoke.

  • YOU WANT NATIONAL HEALTHCARE so we can pay for the 20 million more Americans that legalizing Drugs would put into our healthcare system.

    Upinsmoke,

Your ability to distort a person’s argument is incredible. In your mind, everyone who disagrees with you must be some type of leftist, whether it’s opposing the War in Iraq or opposing the War on (some) Drugs.

I have NEVER bloggeg in favor of national health care–not on this blog–not on ANY blog. In fact, we had a debate on health care a few weeks ago, in which I joined some of the more conservative TMV bloggers in cautioning against giving the government any more power with regards to regulating health care.

Yet you deliberately distort my position–trying to aruge that I support national health care without a shred of evidence.

Some of the most outspoken opponents of the War on (some) Drugs are also the most outspoken opponents of national healthcare. A number of free market economists (i.e. Milton Friedman) as well as the entire Libertarian Party have spoken out in favor of drug legalization.

You is intended as a collective YOU…..look at my post in number 4 in which I said YOU DRUG LEGALIZERS crack me up. My post was not directed so much at you Nic as it was directed at the entire movement that wants to legalize drugs. Im sure that even you would admit that a very large majority of those are in favor of a national healthcare system.

But oh well it doesnt really matter. Shaun tells me he doesn’t give a rats ass what I think and I’m the one to get in trouble for being Ugly. And you know what after thinking about the responses all day I came to the conclusion that him and about 5 billion people share his views.

This is a good post to say So long and thanks for the time here. I wish you all well and hope you find some middle ground in your life where the sand is not so soft and burning your feet.
