Our link-fest offering readers links to blog posts from websites of many different viewpoints. Linked posts do NOT necessarily reflect the opinion of TMV or its writers.

IS DICK CHENEY RELATED TO BARACK OBAMA?: Part of an entry from Dick Cheney’s blog:

When I first heard this news that Barack Obama is my eighth cousin, I dropped the 11-inch fleshing knife and vomited inside the Musk Ox corpse I had just spent 4 hours skinning. Completely ruined!

To be honest though, I saw this coming. There has always been another side of my countenance — an unexplainable Jekyll character that I’ve struggled to suppress.

Read the post in its entirety.…Wait a minute…Can this be a fake Cheney blog? People have been confused by THIS SITE before..

BUT THIS TIDBIT IS APPARENTLY REAL: Former Attorney General Alberto Gonzales may soon find himself prosecuted and he is reportedly refusing to cooperate in an investigation of him.

The poster-boy for a super-political appointee in the not-infrequently political appointee post of Attorney General had up util now been Richard Nixon’s (in)famous AG John Mitchell. Gonzales is likely to go down in the history books as not just an AG with as much independence as an audience member screaming “I WON THE LOTTERY!” in a fairground’s hypnotism show, but he will go down as one of the most incompetent, politically tin-eared and constitutionally-challenged AGs in American history. More reaction at Middle Earth Journal.

SHOULD YOU LIVE LIKE A CAVEMAN to avoid depression? (If so, I need to get started NOW.)

VERY SAD NEWS FROM THE BLOGOSPHERE’S RIGHT:
The great blogger Baldilocks is stepping out of blogging. A class act.

The Randi Rhodes Mugging/Non-Mugging Story/Controversy was in the news (and on the Internet) this past week. Has all been written and said on it? Not quite. Pre-emptive Karma’s Becky is stunned by the “nonchalant reaction of America to what was thought to be a brutal attack on a woman.” FULL DETAILS HERE.

THE BLOG DONKLEPHANT IS BACK UP after being brought down by hackers. Previously “hacks” were comedians who use stock material or politicians (like the ones you see spinning in a rote tone of voice for their candidates). Now it is hacking a website and trying to bring it down. Donklephant’s owner offers these thoughts about his experience this week which left him with a site that is not yet totally back to normal. (Non-bloggers might think the subject is too Inside The Beltway for them to care but hacking involves an attempt to eradicate an entire body of work that took enormous time and thought to create).

NOW IT CAN BE TOLD DEPT: The Top Ten Ways Military Recruiters Didn’t Know They Were Recruiting Gays.

When Is Racism Racism And When Is It Not? One view (involving the case of Democrat Barack Obama and and a Justice Department official) HERE.

A GREAT CONSERVATIVE COMIC STRIP
is back.

DIVORCE LAWYERS AND DOMESTIC VIOLENCE: Does the world need more divorce lawyers? And how does this tie into domestic violence (and we don’t mean where a spouse slaps the other spouse when he/she finds out the other hired a lawyer). Trudy Shuett has some thoughts.

A BIG CONTROVERSY IS UNDERWAY IN MEMPHIS TENNESSEE over the lease of the National Civil Rights Museum. See Booker Rising for details.

ENVIRONMENT IS A BIG ISSUE AROUND THE GLOBE: Check out this post from Bangladesh.

DOES EUROPE NEED A REALITY CHECK? Some think so.

This is posted later than usual due to extensive travel. Also, due to posting problems, some links that were supposed to go in will be saved for a later edition.
