Those of us who have been here long enough know that one of TMV’s greatest strengths is its diversity of views. Sometimes we have rather passionate debates with those with whom we disagree on political matters, but hopefully by hearing differing political views, we become that much more informed. And here at TMV, we strive to give you the opportunity to hear viewpoints that don’t neatly fall on either the “Left” or the “Right.”
That is why I’m introducing a new series at TMV called Libertarian Roundup. Like most of you, I often come across interesting stories or blog posts throughout the internet but don’t always have time to dissect and analyze them in full here at TMV. So it’s my hope that with these Libertarian Roundup posts, I’ll be able to bring to you all a perspective that it sorely lacking in the mainstream media and the blogosphere in general.
* Over at Reason Magazine, Radley Balko discusses the government’s hysterical overreaction to teen “sexting.”
* Over at Slate, Glenn Greenwald takes a surprisingly libertarian take on the Supreme Court’s decision on Citizen’s United vs. FEC.
* Over at LewRockwell.com, Laurence Vance highlights the hypocrisy of those in the pro-life movement who condemn doctors who perform abortions as murderers but remain silent regarding the U.S. government’s killing of innocent civilians overseas even as they have cheered on our wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.
* Over at Reason Magazine, former DNC press spokesman and self-proclaimed Libertarian Democrat Terry Michael looks at the Democrats’ recent streak of election losses and proposes that the party return to its Jeffersonian roots.
