It’s been one of those days when I haven’t felt terribly inspired to write anything on politics for you, primarily because we’re dealing with a very serious medical issue regarding our basset hound. However, one story popped up over at Hot Air which took my mind off of things for a bit. Those of you who have been married, or know somebody who is married, understand that women can be hard to deal with, particularly if things go bad and you’re facing a divorce. Never has this been made more clear than in the case of Dr. Richard Batista’s family in Garden City, New York. He is going through a lengthy divorce and his selfish, greedy wife, Dawnell, won’t even give back the kidney he donated to her seven years ago.
A Long Island surgeon embroiled in a nearly four-year divorce proceeding wants his estranged wife to return the kidney he donated to her, although he says he’ll settle for $1.5 million in compensation.
Dr. Richard Batista, a surgeon at Nassau University Medical Center, told reporters at his lawyer’s Long Island office Wednesday that he decided to go public with his demand for kidney compensation because he has grown frustrated with the negotiations with his estranged wife.
Women, eh? Can’t live with ’em, can’t repossess your donated organs when you want to live without ’em.
