This is not a lot of baloney. From the AP:
Some might call a partially-eaten sandwich ordered by then-Vice President Richard Nixon 46 years ago just a piece of trash.
But Steve Jenne thought he saw a piece of history and has held onto it ever since.
Jenne retrieved the left-behind buffalo barbecue sandwich after Nixon dined at a political rally in Sullivan, Illinois, during his 1960 presidential campaign.
Over the years, the item piqued the public interest as Nixon lost that campaign and eventually won the race for president in 1968 and 1972 before the Watergate scandal forced him to resign two years later. Nixon died in 1994.Last month, Jenne, 59, was invited to be a guest on an updated version of the classic 1950s and ’60s television game show “I’ve Got a Secret.”
The show features celebrity panelists who attempt to guess a contestant’s secret.
Perhaps this will start a trend. Hold onto it if you have:
–Throat spray used by Howard Dean during the 2004 primaries.
–Shotgun used by Vice-President Dick Cheney.
–Hamburgers and Krispy Kreme donuts partially eaten by Bill Clinton (a rarity since so few exist).
–The crate that held a day’s worth of make-up for Florida Rep. Katherine Harris.
–Collection of Stephen Colbert DVDs discarded by President George W. Bush.
–Dick Cheney shotgun pellets removed from Harry Whittington’s face.
–One of Michael Jackson’s noses.
–Majority Leader Bill Frist’s discarded political positions.
