For those of you flailing in disorientated horror at yet another of my seemingly endless mentions of Critical Race Theory, social constructionalism, post-modernism, or whatever fringe leftist dogma I’m hopped up on at the moment, fear not.
Well, fear less. I’m not abandoning these lovely jewels of philosophical progress (I do go to a liberal arts college). But over at Blackprof, Pittsburgh Law Professor Richard Delgado has done us the favor of at least explaining one of the issues in clear accessible language: The Social Construction of Race. He compares it to the social construction of “teenager,” which is a surprisingly apt analogy. But in addition to being informative, it’s also chock full of interesting factoids. So I recommend it. Highly.
