YOU can help Hurricane Katrina’s victims by doing what you can to give money, raise more — or get the word out in any way you can about agencies that are providing relief.
One of the BEST RESOURCES to find an agency that can use your help is to visit InstaPundit here who has an EXHAUSTIVE page of links to weblogs giving you info on various agencies. (You might even SAVE this page because it’s quite a resource)
We also reccommend you visit the Network For Good’s relief page here. It has a large list of agencies waiting for you to pitch in and help them out.
Meanwhile, remember that storms don’t only claim human victims.
Coupled with these effort, many ANIMALS are displaced by storm and they desperately need care or to be reunified with their owners.
If, as you help the human victims, you are also interested in this other, too-often-forgotten aspect — displaced or hurt animals — then be sure to visit The Humane Society here and IFAW’s special page here and join the drive to help the non-human victims as well.
UPDATE:
Actor/writer/blogger Wil Wheaton has a list of some organizations and info about a poker game he plans to raises money for the victims.
Crooks And Liars is trying to raise $1 million in disaster relief via liberal/progressive blogs and info is here.
