Another poetic gem from TMV’s favorite poet, Michael Silverstein, aka Wall Street Poet:
Big Tent Dems
Karl Rove’s master plan,
His idea smug and smarty,
Was govern only with
Just one wing of his party;
This led to policies
Most skewed and truly odd,
Some came from think tank cranks,
Some came direct from God.Now Dems again have won
A place at power’s table,
But pundits wonder if
This win will them enable
To govern in a way
Requiring balance deft,
‘Cause lots of new Dem reps
Come from center not from left.But me, I kind of think
This mix is really great,
And Dems have gone a way
The Repubs should emulate;
A country don’t fly well
When just one wing gets to vent,
Its policies are best
Worked out in a big tent.
