Dear Republicans:
In my previous post DEAR REPUBLICANS: YOUR PARTY IS ILL I say things that you probably don’t want anyone to say about your political party.
If you don’t like what I said, then you probably won’t like what John Kasich recently said about the GOP.
You do remember who John Kasich is, right? He isn’t just a member of your Party. He is a leader within your Party, one who ran for President during this election cycle.
In an interview with Business Insider, Kasich says the following:
Kasich makes a good point. The GOP needs to address the issues that are of concerns of members of the lower and middle classes, not those of the chattering classes.
Like it or not, the GOP frequently comes across as being deaf when it comes to what the Homer and Marge Simpsons of America care about.
I don’t agree with everything that Kasich says, but I do consider him to be the kind of statesman that the GOP needs more of. If GOP voters had selected him to be their presidential nominee instead of Donald Trump, then Hillary Clinton would be selecting a place to retire right now instead of selecting new drapes for the Oval Office.
Indeed, if Donald Trump’s candidacy isn’t a clear sign that the GOP is ill, then I don’t know what is.
