This Study Was Fixed!

It’s clear that this study, if you want to call it that, was conducted by Cloned, Islamic Fascist, Abortion Doctors because of the hate at its core and disdain for the purity and perfection of America. To suggest that another country (let alone 21 of them) is more stable than us is sheer madness! We get pet medicine delivered to our front door for Pete’s sake. Tell me what is better than that and I’ll call you a liar.

Of course its easy to get along and prosper when everyone is virtually the same. What about when everyone believes themselves to be different? And by different, I mean better than anyone who isn’t just like them. Who ranks top then? Whatever. The terrorist, atheist devil worshippers who put this together are probably too busy eating kittens to do an accurate study anyway.

What about the most hated country? That’s more accurate because if you’re hated, then you’re obviously the best because hate is all about jealousy. What about the fattest? We’d win that one for sure.

Seriously though, it’s a good read. Britain is world’s 7th most stable and prosperous nation - Times Online “The United Kingdom has been ranked as one of the most stable and prosperous countries in the world, beating the United States, France and even Switzerland in a global assessment of every nation’s achievements and standards.

A one-year investigation and analysis of 235 countries and dependent territories has put the UK joint seventh in the premier league of nations. The top ten comprise also the Vatican, Sweden, Luxembourg, Monaco, Gibraltar, San Marino, Liechtenstein, the Netherlands and the Irish Republic.

The US lies 22nd and Switzerland, normally associated with wealth and untouchable stability, is rated 17th, losing points in the assessment of its social achievements.”

A pragmatic government would study the best practices of these other countries to see how they can be implemented here. But when our leaders are dominated by ideologues they can't seem to justify a more practical approach to our problems.

Our system needs to change to make it safe for open minded pragmatists to get elected.

    Actually, the study was fixed!

It is always important to consider the criteria used to measure these studies.

One statistic, overlooked by the UN, the authors of the study, and Angela, trumps the study: the UK is now the 2nd highest emigrant exporting nation on the planet (only Mexico exports more of its population).

Native born Britons are leaving the UK in droves, primarily for Australia, the US, New Zealand and Canada. The only reason the population of the UK is at all stable (moderately increasing) are large numbers of immigrants from Eastern Europe and former Commonwealth countries in the Caribbean, Africa and South Asia.

If Britons...who know the country best presumably...are leaving in record numbers, something is clearly up.

As anyone who has been the UK recently can attest, crime rates are skyrocketing, despite the UK having a CC camera on every street corner (shades of Big Brother). The Home Office last year had to admit the scandalous - though widely suspected - fact that it has been underreporting real crime rates for years.

I suspect Switzerland got hammered because of its recent anti-immigrant vote in the election (the UN liberal authors of the study being presumably pro-immigrant).

Switzerland is possibly the most stable and prosperous country that has ever existed.

When the UK beats Switzerland on almost any measure...aside from beer drinking, good TV, and the quality of fish and chips...you know the fix is in!

And, need I add: Great Britain invented the deep-fried Mars Bar.

(Though some TMV folks, obsessed with chocolate, might consider that a high point of civilization in the UK's favour).

Truth be told: The English blame the deep-fried Mars Bar on the Scots, who would probably eat their grandmothers were they deep-fried in beer batter.
The Scots invented haggis as a national dish, after all, so one can imagine anything of those savages (altho I must say haggis isn't really that bad, provided one has had a few pints beforehand).

It's hard not to notice that most of the countries at the top are all quite tiny. The obvious conclusion is that we need to break the U.S. up into individual county-size states and then everyone can move to WestchesterCountia.

I would agree that the Deep Fried Mars (or Snickers) bar is a high achievement of civilization.

While for most of my life I took comfort in the superiority of the USA, as I age I am more attracted to the features of other cultures: National Health Care, less violent crime, more embrace of subtle culture, arts, cuisine, more respect for the environment and an elevated tone of collaboration with neighbors. The US is too much "survival of the fittest" for my delicate temperament.
