This week the state of Tennessee is probably best-thought-of as the home of Elvis Presley but in November it will probably be a second-tier state in most political analyses.
President: Although Obama is going to make a real effort to win, or at least keep the GOP spending money there, the state usually votes Republican and even rejected native-son Al Gore.
Leans Republican
Senate: Incumbent Lamar Alexander (R) may not have made it to the White House but will have little trouble winning a second term in the Senate. Former party chairman Robert Tuke (D) will make a good showing but is unlikely to win.
Safe Republican
House: At this point it looks like all 5 Democrats and all 4 Republicans will win re-election, though there will be one new Congressman in January. In the solidly-GOP 1st District, incumbent Dave Davis (R) lost to 2006 rival David Roe.
