As I type, I’m listening to Engadget editor-in-chief Joshua Topolsky on NPR explaining why the Droid isn’t an iPhone killer. I have to agree, it’s not. But competition is good. And I’m resistant to buying three of those shiny apples for my family!
A friend showed off his Motorolla Droid this afternoon. He’s very happy with it. I’m tempted by the HTC Droid Eris, $100 cheaper than the Motorolla Droid. Sleeker, too. ZDNet says it may be the best $100 smartphone. Check it out:
Meanwhile, Mashable’s got three Verizon holiday ads that mock AT&T and the iPhone:
The new holiday ads from the company tackle AT&T’s (lack of) 3G coverage yet again, in a theme similar to the “there’s a map for that” campaign. It’s possible, however, that Verizon is attacking AT&T rather than the phone itself, essentially saying: nice phone, shame about the coverage.
That emphasis is in the original. My favorite of the 3 ads, the elves…
