Once upon at time there was a prominent liberal blogger who in his every day incarnation was a litigator, someone whose business involved dealing with facts and specifics. Even though he was highly respected by many on the left and center to center-left, he took a break from blogging after the election because he started to feel the two sides in America’sw 7/24 political war were now on entirely different wavelengths.
And he has returned briefly to do another post — this one say the situation is now worse than ever because of some of what he sees on the right. Details here.
What’s interesting: there are some current and past Republicans who feel the same way about the present trending in the Republican party. The key question is whether a)this will be reversed due to future electoral losses or whether b)this will be the prevailing trend due to ballot box victories that finally transforms the party into a dominant new conservatism quite different from that of Barry Goldwater, William F. Buckley or Ronald Reagan.
