Some extra attention to a few Centrist blogs:
Amba at the AmbivaBlog quotes one of her commenters who wrote: “it is nothing short of magic that with only ink, paper, and able mind we can create something out of nothing; and in our ability to create we glimpse the power of our Gods in ourselves.” As Amba points out, the entire comments is truly a “beautiful tribute to the handwritten word”.
TMV co-blogger Jeremy writes at his own blog that he needs “to take a break from political blogging for a time. How long that time will be is anyone’s guess”, including his… Meanwhile, he will post more regularly at his other blog PhiloBiblos. Jeremy reads a lot. I thought that I read a lot, but when I see what he reads… You can go to that great bookblog to read reviews, links to essays on books, etc.
Personally, I hope that he’ll start posting about politics asap.
Done with Mirrors encourages you all to vote for “this week’s Great Moments in Journalism poll at Gawker.” Reader_I_Am’s choice: Sheryl Gay Stolberg’s sentence regarding Lincoln in her Dec. 25 White House Memo for the NYT.
Jon Swift on Ford calling the war against Iraq a “mistake”. Woodward published these words after Ford died. Jon: “By dying, Ford effectively cut and run from any discussion about why he hates America.”
Dave Schuler on Iraq: there are bad choices and bad choices. But a choice must be made.
Read them all.
