UPDATE: Turns out I should have seen it coming. He foretold his comments last night in the Democrats’ glass ceiling at The Weekly Standard. .
Steve Benen, “The transparently shameless stunt here is for far-right Republicans to incite as much intra-party tensions among Democrats as humanly possible… I wouldn’t be the least bit surprised if these tactics have the opposite of the intended effect.”
Ezra Klein, “I wandered over to the masthead of his magazine… Out of 20 editorial positions, three are held by women. Of those three positions, all are ‘administrative’… Of the 18 “contributing editors” to the magazine, exactly one is a woman. People standing on glass ceilings shouldn’t throw stones.”

On Fox News Sunday this morning, Bill Kristol took a page from the Limbaugh playbook and proposed that Hillary Clinton supporters at the Democratic convention should put her name into nomination for Vice President:
Obama’s going to be the nominee there’s no point in contesting that roll call. What I would encourage Hillary Clinton supporters to do to express their outrage over the pick of Senator Biden over the better qualified Senator Clinton as the vice presidential pick is to put her into nomination for the vice presidency. That would be a good rollcall vote don’t you think? Clinton and Biden, I’m not sure she wouldn’t beat him. That would be exciting and it would be a favor to Senator Obama because the truth is it would be a much stronger ticket.
The other panelists guffaw. Later Kristol proposes Hillary for McCain’s VP:
Meanwhile I predict that Senator McCain is calling Hillary Clinton, they’re very friendly, to commiserate with her about the injustice… Incidentally, I was thinking, what woman could McCain put on the ticket to really appeal to the Clinton voters? What about Hillary? I think McCain Hillary…
