Actually, it’s CG liquid, and it’s amazing. Give it a watch.
So since that’s solved, what’s next? Flying cars? Government that actually works for the people instead of for themselves?
I’m holding out for the flying cars.

First, Claire McCaskill:
Claire McCaskill’s campaign called on Sen. John Kerry to apologize for a “botched joke” he made on Monday.
“[McCaskill] said it’s a dumb thing to say and he should apologize,” said McCaskill spokeswoman Adrainne Marsh.
Then from Harold Ford, Jon Tester and Ben Cardin:
“Whatever the intent, Senator Kerry was wrong to say what he said,” said Democratic Rep. Harold Ford Jr., running for Senate in Tennessee.
“Sen. Kerry’s...

It’s the money stupid…
From the Wash Post:
Failing to curb the impact of climate change could damage the global economy on the scale of the Great Depression or the world wars by spawning environmental devastation that could cost 5 to 20 percent of the world’s annual gross domestic product, according to a report issued yesterday by the British government.
The report by Nicholas Stern, who heads Britain’s Government Economic Service and formerly served as the World Bank’s...

Maybe you’ve heard that our military is detaining an AP photographer indefinitely in Iraq. They scooped him up in April of this year, bu they still won’t charge him with anything.
Incidentally, the military did the same thing to a CBS cameraman in 2005, and subsequently released him after a YEAR of detainment at Abu Ghraib. Good times.
I have more on the unfortunate case of Bilal Hussein here.

Alan Stewart Carl gives us two great posts about the weaknesses of both parties this election season.
First, how Dems could snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.
Then, why Republicans are positioned to lose.

You’ve gotta hand it to Cheney. He certainly knows how to turn a phrase.
From a recent interview:
WASHINGTON – Vice President Dick Cheney has confirmed that U.S. interrogators subjected captured senior al-Qaida suspects to a controversial interrogation technique called “water-boarding,” which creates a sensation of drowning.
Cheney indicated that the Bush administration doesn’t regard water-boarding as torture and allows the CIA to use it. “It’s a no-brainer...

I went through the White House’s website and found numerous times when administration officials said, “stay the course.”
Read and decide for yourself if Bush and company are being honest.

Maybe you think I’m talking about Tom Dobbs, the fictional character Robin Williams plays in the new movie Man of the Year.
Well, I’m not, but the “real” Dobbs shares many of the same, independent-minded ideas that the fictional Dobbs puts forth on the silver screen. And maybe, just maybe, those ideas have the potential to spark a real candidacy to promote real change.

Looks like the Republican dark horse, Alan Schlesinger, came out strong in the recent debate. Or at least that’s what the left would have you believe.
Hot Air has an interesting roundup of the blogosphere’s attempt to paint Schlesinger as the winner.
And then, more from the Hartford Courant…
The televised hourlong encounter also included Republican Alan Schlesinger, who saved his sharpest attacks for Lieberman. The two are vying for Republican votes.
Schlesinger, recalling Lieberman’s...

Sabato:
Recently I was in a taxi cab in San Antonio, Texas, and tossed out my favorite query for cabbies: “What’s the dumbest question you’ve ever been asked in your cab?” A lovely Latino lady who had been driving passengers for years said, “That’s easy. Just the other day a man asked me when we passed the Alamo, ‘Why in the world did they build the Alamo in the middle of downtown San Antonio?’” Of course,...

The leftist leader accused Washington of ‘‘domination, exploitation and pillage of peoples of the world.’’
In my humble opinion, Hugo Chavez belongs on Mars with Alan Keyes & Dennis Kucinich! Of course, it’s likely that neither gentleman would associate with him.
Shakespeare’s Sister comments:
No, Mr. Chavez—Bush isn’t the devil. I’ve seen the devil’s work. He’s competent.

Thai Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra declares a state of emergency in Bangkok amid rumours of a coup.

First they let the Taliban lay claim to part of their country and now an insane rape law that is so incredibly disgusting you seriously won’t believe it.
From Ali Eteraz comes this:
The women’s protection bill of Pakistan — which will dramatically alter the rape laws of Pakistan — has a chance of being passed this coming Monday. The bill is an attempt to reform the draconian rape laws of Pakistan from 1979, passed by then dictator Zia ul Haq under the auspices of the religious...

Sideways Mencken asks a valid question about our history (and our future):
Sixty five years ago we fought a war with Japan following their attack on Pearl Harbor. Within a matter of a few months we were burning down Japanese cities. The Japanese of that era favored wood construction and we dropped incendiary bombs. Later, when the technology became available, we dropped atomic bombs.
You can argue one way or the other whether there were significant, legitimate military targets in each and every case,...
