Alan Stewart Carl had an interesting experience recently…
Last week, my wife and I toured one of the few area preschools not associated with a church. We knew it was a bit hippy-dippy but we also knew it had a good reputation. Everything was going well until the school day began with all the children sitting around in a circle. They use this time to tell a multi-culturally approved story and sing a song, which was fine by me. But then, at the end, they placed a globe in the center of the circle...

Rudy may be talking the “strict constructionists” talk, but it seems he didn’t walk the walk while mayor of NYC.
From Politico:
A Politico review of the 75 judges Giuliani appointed to three of New York state’s lower courts found that Democrats outnumbered Republicans by more than 8 to 1. One of his appointments was an officer of the International Association of Lesbian and Gay Judges. Another ruled that the state law banning liquor sales on Sundays was unconstitutional because...

Do I even have to ask?
And did you know that marijuana is becoming the biggest cash crop in the US?

At least the pennies and nickels. Confused? Don’t be.
You’re literally not going to believe this…
Because of the prevailing prices of metals, the cost of producing pennies and nickels exceeds the coins’ face value.
A nickel is 25 percent nickel and 75 percent copper. The metal in one coin costs 6.99 cents for each 5-cent coin.
Modern pennies have 2.5 percent copper content with zinc making up the rest of the coin. The current copper and zinc in a penny are worth 1.12 cents.

Yes, that David Duke.
In short, Sean Aqui wrote a post detailing why he was against laws criminalizing the speech of Holocaust deniers. And I agree because laws like these play right into the hands of the deniers by making it appear as if their information is too dangerous to report.
In any event, hop on over when you have time and check out what the former leader of the KKK has to say for himself.

Want any more proof that Afghanistan is lost? No? Well too bad because the opium poppy production is going gangbusters. Literally record crops.
I talk more about this craziness here.
UPDATE:
From the the comments section…
The crop could and should be bought at the grower level. The farmers in Afghanistan will make maybe $ 2.5-3 billion for their crop selling to gangsters and terrorists. We could easily buy it from the farmers at a competitive premium and divert it to the poorest countries...

A majority of Americans think so, but what does that really mean?

It remains to be seen if Schwarzenegger is the real deal when it comes to the no-nonsense politics of the middle, but he’s certainly gaining a solid reputation in California.
Now he wants to push these some centrist ideas into the mainstream for the 2008 Republicans. Can he do it?

This news is really not a huge shocker, but the particularly disturbing new stat is that a majority of Iraqis now approve of the attacks on our servicemen and women. And that is simply devastating.
I take a closer look at the situation here.

He’s a front runner for the Republican nomination in ‘08, so this situation begs the question… is this move ethically suspect? It’s certainly not illegal, but you know what they say…if you can’t beat the media, buy the media.
Okay, nobody says that…but I’d bet Romney at least made one crack about it before the sale. I mean, how could you not? Come on Mitt…fess up…we won’t hold it against you.
By the way, are we ready to elect a guy...

Just a few questions…how do we capitalize on this win, divide the country and make a hell of a lot of money in the process? Anybody? Thoughts?

Surprised? Didn’t think so.
Still, a recent editorial from Chafee reveals that when Bush was President elect in December 2000, his administration was planning to turn the government into a partisan battleground.

He says the Dems’ win is good for the nation.
Well, how about that…
“I think it is good that there are new ideas and new blood because Washington was stuck. They could not move forward, not much was accomplished; I think it was terrible,” he told reporters on a trip to Mexico. [...]
Schwarzenegger said fellow Republicans could now learn from his change of tack and work with Democrats.
“If anyone in Washington or anyone from other states looks at that, hopefully they...

This is blood, but better. It can carry 100 times as much oxygen as the real stuff.
Find out why that’s not only REALLY good news for us, but also for our troops in Iraq.

If you glance around at the post-election political landscape, the odds are you’re going to see a lot of moderate Dem voices in government.
