Governor Palin: Ignore Bill Kristol by Avoiding Glass Sanctuaries

Governor Sarah Palin’s attack on Barack Obama and his connection with Reverend Jeremiah Wright is not the wisest course of action for her or the McCain campaign. The connection between Obama and Wright have been the focus of the MSM for several months and is considered old news.

Over the weekend Palin asked Bill Kristol the following question, “To tell you the truth, Bill, I don’t know why that association isn’t discussed more, because those were appalling things that that pastor had said about our great country, and to have sat in the pews for 20 years and listened to that — with, I don’t know, a sense of condoning it, I guess, because he didn’t get up and leave — to me, that does say something about character. But, you know, I guess that would be a John McCain call on whether he wants to bring that up.”

John McCain does not want bring it up because it will open up the can of worms of Palin’s religious beliefs. Palin has her own troublesome religious connections to deal with as does McCain. For Palin, it revolves around her pastor Larry Kroon who has stated that “God Will Punish America” and has allowed anti-Jewish statements in his church by “Jews for Jesus” leader David Brickner. McCain has his own issues with controversial religious figures like pastor John Hagee who said that Hurricane Katrina was God’s wrath of the sin in the city of New Orleans.

Palin would be wise to follow John McCain’s lead on this issue by leaving religion in the private arena between now and November 4th. The American people have been educated about the religious connections of Obama and McCain over the last year.

Last week, you were able to rehabilitate your legitimacy to run for Vice President, the last thing you or John McCain need is the media spotlight to focus on the divisive doctrine of your church. In other words, put down the rock…unless you have reinforced the glass of your own sanctuary.
