DONATE_copy.gifIf you like The Moderate Voice’s blend of co-bloggers, guest voice posts, varying ideas, features and role in consciously trying to strengthen the Internet’s center while respecting the left and right, this is the time to help us help by donating whatever you can. We’re still in the middle of some changes so every donation helps.

You can also make a loan, that’ll be paid back with interest starting in early summer.

You can donate by going to DONATE TO TMV on the right side of the template (or click on these links) and donating via Paypal, or Amazon OR click on my name in the upper portion of the masthead and email me if you want to send a check. If you want to make a loan, contact me for details on the interest you’ll receive. This will be posted each day until the drive is over.

Any donations and loans you can make now would help. You may notice: TMV does NOT usually get political ads from most candidates since our writers disagree on candidates and you’ll see a mix of posts from varying perspectives. (We also never get invited on these famous candidate conference calls to bloggers because we are not promoting any candidacy. TMV’s writers include people who have different preferences for President.)

Our drive will continue at least until the end of February. We hope to raise a minimum of $2,000 (at least) in donations — and other money in loans that will be paid back with significant interest (as was done last spring to the delight of those who got their money back and more).

So far we have not raised even close to half 1/2 of our required $2000 in donations — so donations are still very much needed.

The donations have been used so far to make a partial payment to our tech, who had to stabilize our site, redesign it, move it to a new server and even to a new network. We are still NOT yet done with the design changes and upgrading of the site. There are few things we might also add as time goes on, as well…but all will require tech time, at the very least.

LOANS are for a different reason — a bit more personal. Last year I offered loans as an option due to a severe family health crisis and had a great response and everyone who loaned money got it back with the promised interest. This year the need is greater due to several reasons:

–The massive San Diego County fire wreaked havoc with what I do in my other incarnation, which is akin to being a campaign manager. Details HERE. I wrote two VERY special first-hand blog posts on the fire and what it meant HERE and HERE. These events meant events had to be canceled or re-slated. There have been a slew of other personal problems that have intervened (mentioned before on this site in an earlier version of this post)…that are unfortunately continuing. This includes income-producing events greatly reduced due to the fire’s impact, make up income-producing events and visiting a grieving mother. Too much to go into here (email if you want more details).

But if you want to make loan, with good (some say great) interest back, now is the time to do it and all repayments will start via check or Paypal starting in early summer.

And if you can’t donate but know someone who can, do let them know about the TMV fundraising drive. As TMV grows, our hits get put back into the blogosphere because we link to lots of blogs.
