Karl Rove Said His Farewells On The Sunday Talk Shows but did he resemble a certain cartoon character?

Rove Retrospective (Yes There IS more): Be sure to read Nicholas Beaudrot at Ezra Klein. Here’s part of it:
So, this ex post facto analysis of Rove’s intervention into the 2004 Democratic primaries seems like, well, not a fabrication, but, maybe one of those “exaggerations”. I don’t really recall any statements from the Bush White House or the RNC making a big difference; edwards was simply short on resources after the Iowa caucuses, and both the donor and the activist class were eager to end the primaries with any electable candidate and get on with the business of taking down George Bush. Nor, I think, should we read his statements that Dean was a weak general election candidate to mean that he necessarily would have been a strong one. The best thing to do is let Rove ride off into the lecture circuit and book writing sunset. To quote a wise man, “Sometimes they just have no idea what they’re doing.”
But Is Rove Going To Help Hillary Clinton Win The White House? TimesOnline’s Daniel Finklestein, in a post that needs to be read in full, writes in part:
If Mr Rove is boosting Hillary in this roundabout way, he’s doing it because he tried something similar to dupe the Dems into choosing John Kerry in 2004. The weaker candidate then lost. In other words, the Dems rallied against Rove and the electorate didn’t.
I think that in so far as Mr Rove succeeds this time in influencing the Dems choice it won’t work as in 2004.
The Dems may rally against Rove as they did in 2004. But so, this time, may the voters. Voters may react like Dem activists, concluding that there must be something good about a woman that Karl Rove dislikes so much. The master strategist may just end up helping Hillary become President.
Yours truly agrees. The problem is that now so much has been written and broadcast about Mr. Rove that many Americans understand his game and the press has been increasingly calling him on it. But that doesn’t keep him from trying old strategies and tactics.

Are Administration Officials Going To Be Charged With Contempt Of Congress? It certainly sounds as if Congress is poised to do it. But the problem will be getting the Justice Department to act on it (watch for the administration to in-effect say “You and whose Army?” and ignore it). Also, many of the administration’s actions seem to be virtually asking for this to go into the courts. And given recent court appointments, including the Supreme Court, perhaps they are confident (and for a reason).
