America: Fascist and Socialist!

Ron Paul at CPAC:

“We now have moved a major step in the direction of socialism,” Rep. Ron Paul (Tex.) said Friday, adding: “We are close to a fascist system where the government has control of our lives and our economy.”

It sounds funny, but when you think about, the full name of the Nazi Party was the National Socialist German Workers Party. Who says fascists can’t be socialists, too?

Anyhow, not surprisingly, the WaPo’s coverage of CPAC amounted to a compilation of the most ridiculous and/or politically incorrect things anyone said there, plus a brief dismissal of conservative ideas as “little more beyond the notion of keeping government limited and ‘unleashing the power of freedom’ in the lives of Americans.”

And I shouldn’t forget a third essential point: Reprinting conservative self-criticism that echoes liberal talking points:

Huckabee sounded a populist note: “We’ve got to get the word out that the Republican Party is not just a haven for rich white guys who want to get richer.

This article belongs in the official MSM textbook on how to trivialize a subject while pretending to provide objective coverage.

  • Perhaps if there had been anything but ridiculous and/or politically incorrect things anyone said there, and conservative ideas that were not “little more beyond the notion of keeping government limited and ‘unleashing the power of freedom’ in the lives of Americans.” they would have reported it. The current cult calling themselves conservative actually have people laughing at them including conservatives who actually do have ideas and intellect. If they want to be taken seriously Rush Limbaugh is probably a poor choice as a keynote speaker.

Is there any proof that much else went on there?

Ditto the other commenters. If you’re going to argue that the WaPo presented to the world a straw version of CPAC, let’s hear what the real one sounded like. At this point it just sounds like embarrassment at the movement’s dirty laundry being presented for the world to see.

Don’t forget that the socialism was forced upon the new adminstration that had no choice but to step in and take over institutions in order to save our very country.

I’ve said it before, no group of foreign terrorists has ever done the damage to our nation that Bushco has. They set up the conditions for forced-socialism on top of nearly bankrupting us and placing us in a strategically vulnerable position. Bin Laden couldn’t have prayed for more..

Say, isn’t GW a longtime friend of the Bin Ladens? Weird coincidence…

Ironic that the party of Busco now cries ‘SOCIALISM!!”… They want to disown the bastard baby they themselves begot..

Except that Hitler believed that socialism was a right-wing ideology that was identical to nationalism, hence national socialism.
