Here’s the latest bit of news/conspiracy to come out of the Pakistan press about the apparent demise of Osama bin Laden.
Is the reason the Obama Administration decided not to release the death photo of bin Laden because the terrorism pioneer blew himself up to avoid capture? That is the claim of this news item from Pakistan’s The Nation, which cites an anonymous senior Afghanistan intelligence official who asserts that he has been in ‘frequent contact’ with U.S. Special Forces.
The news item from Pakistan’s The Nation says in part:
LAHORE: Soon after U.S. Special Forces (SEALs) launched a late-night raid on his compound in Abbotabad on Monday, the face of al-Qaeda, Osama bin Laden, the man who introduced suicide bombing to Pakistan in the mid 1990s, blew himself up to avoid capture. This according to a senior Afghan intelligence official.
It has been learned that his body was cut to pieces, as happens in suicide attacks, leaving no option for U.S. forces other than simply to identify him. The senior Afghan intelligence official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said that the Americans had planned to nab him alive. “But they miscalculated. Osama blew himself up to avoid capture,” he said confidently, but declining to give further details. The source asserted that before and after the action, he had frequent contacts with the U.S. Special Forces involved.
