Dan is right, despite the low-budget hokiness, it is a scarier film than Wizard of Oz". However, I don't see it played on TV very much any more and I wonder if it is considered too dated and hokey by today's kids. When I first saw it, it was only 20 years old and I knew who Laurel and Hardy were -- now it is seventy years old and L&H are a distant memory. A few years ago I bought a colorized video tape of it from a remainder bin, but by then my teenage kids were not the least bit interested in it. I'm saving it to try again on the grandkids.
