Yesterday we did a post (see post chain link below) on progressive talker Stephanie Miller getting a death threat. Since some readers noted that they haven’t heard her, we found this GREAT You Tube clip (before she got her threat) where she talks about Air America’s bankruptcy and talk radio in general.
If you haven’t heard Miller (you can listen to some of her show via her website) she essentially does a fast-paced radio political comedy show that is a cross between Laugh In, a night at a comedy club and Don Imus. She makes no bones about where she’s coming from but you find yourself laughing out loud at her zingers, one-liners and sound effects. She’s picking up stations and is handled by the same network that handles the country’s top progressive talker, Ed Schultz.
But, most of all, she doesn’t have a mean or rant tone to her show (many talkers are perpetually outraged) but an ironic and satirical streak.
In this clip you’ll note that she PRAISES conservative talkers Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity as good broadcasters. She explains to Howard Kurtz why some talkers thrive and others will not and what would happen to Air America shows if the network folds:
