Terrorism and the US Elections
There is an interesting discussion going on between conservative bloggers: more specifically between Power Line’s John Hinderaker and ‘Captain’ Ed Morrissey.

It is an interesting discussion because it shows the battle or at least debate going on within the Republican party / ‘the base’. There are those who simply accept the new situation and realize that it is in America’s interest to work together with the Democrats as much as possible and there are those who consider the Democrats to – practically – already have lost the GWOT and – as such – consider it to be quite silly to think that Republicans should try to work with the Democrats as much as possible.
I, obviously, hope that the Ed Morrissey’s of the Republican party will win the debate.

I agree with the CQ support. Hinderacker is mocked by the Centrists at Andrew Sullivan and BalloonJuice. Give the FarRight a few weeks to recover from their wounds. If they don’t want to work with the Democrats they will be exposed as real partisan hacks. They can continue to ‘carry water”‘ with the Limpbaugh wing or try to be bipartisans.
Rudi, yeah sound like someone has been listening to too much waterboy Limbaugh nonsense. You are right that the more people like this that �speak� for the right the more elections they will loose. The message on partisanship was clear, If conservatives ignore that message and it will be a generation in the wilderness. I do think the right will have to sort this out and hopefully the more moderate Republicans will win out, but if you look at how dismissive the right is of RINOs, this is going to be one tough battle.
Has it occurred to anyone one the Right (or Left) that rather than actually caring who wins our elections, Al Quaeda simply takes any opportunity to tweak us? We’ve become somewhat like Frank Burns racing around reacting to every little pronouncement from them.
It would appear that it has occured to Ed.
I really doubt it has occured to the wingnuts that all thier talk about Democrats are in league with terrorists and if the Dems win the terrorists win, they may have heard. These guys watch CNN and all our news programs. They hear the garbage being said. I’m sure they heard the talking points by the right and when the Dems won, rubbed it in thier faces and laughed.
Oh. please. Why don’t these wingnuts ever think
Its amazing some are so stewed in their partisan hatreds that they look at any one who disagrees with them as a threat to national security.
