A scene from a San Francisco night

For reasons both personal and related to exhaustion with the idiocies I see in blogworld, my postings both here at The Moderate Voice along with my own personal weblog Random Fate have been few and far between.

Instead of a political diatribe, I offer photo I took Monday night in San Francisco on a businesss trip when out with an old friend I worked with in France. Click on the thumbnail to go to a page with a bigger version, and click on the photo on that page to get an even larger version.

Great picture Jack! Question? Coit Tower, the Transamerica Building, and… WHAT?

What ever it is I sure like how you ‘balanced’ them, Thanks.

  2. Jack says:

    Thanks!

That is the top of a carousel on Fisherman’s Wharf in San Francisco. A tourist trap, but a view that most don’t notice, especially in the daytime. I was fortunate enough to turn from looking at Alcatraz Island to see the symmetry/contrast at night, and I took advantage of the shot.

I have some others I took that evening, but none with the same impact, at least in my eyes.

Nice shot, it makes the Transamerica building look like a thin Christmas tree. I didn’t remember the carousel but then, I don’t think I’ve been to Fishermans Wharf more than a have dozen times. I prefer the area where the seals congregate, much calmer.

OT, just a scene from the award polls:
    TMV 6666 (!), Althass 3310

Cool pic. I’ve been fascinated with San Fran since seeing “Vertigo.”

Thanks Jack… It looked like the “Cavalia” tent, but that was two years ago and over by the ball park.
